Better together…..

August 26, 2010

This is Krista.  Pretty girl huh?

Many of you already know, that Krista is a big part of a “William Ainsley Wedding”.  She is my second shooter, my assistant….but most importantly, she is my wife.  That’s right, for those who don’t know - we are a husband and wife photography team!   Krista has such a great eye for the details going on around - and is crazy with candids.

I recently was told that I had to was lucky enough to do some headshots for Krista, for a few of her fitness projects that she does as well.  I am not sure if she likes my work, or if she likes my prices…..either way, I am pretty happy with the results from this quick shoot.

It also a great opportunity to show you guys my better half, and a large part of the images that you will receive on your special day.

I’m filing this post under “Hottie”.

Model Shoot with Aleks

October 18, 2009

Yet again, I am so far behind in blogging.  September really rocked me, as we literally had multiple shoots every week.  Then you add back to school, and all the studio stuff - it has been crazy!

I owe a post though - and what better way, than showing a couple of my quick shoots that I had last week to break in the studio.

Today’s post is of Aleks.  Aleks and I have been communicating for a while now - always trying to set up a time to finally shoot.  The funny thing is, (and I just found it out during our shoot) is that she literally lives only a few blocks away from me!

Aleks has only been modelling for a short period of time, but in that time - she has certainly made it!  It drove me CRAZY to see her images from other photographers that I follow and love, as it made me want to shoot with her even more.  Aleks has most recently been selected to be in the 2010 Toronto Sun Sunshine Girl calendar.  She just doesn’t take a bad picture.

Anyway - here is some quick edits to some of the shots from the quick shoot we had.  I am looking forward to shooting with her again, as my studio is always open for for her.

Bridal Shoot: Erin

August 12, 2009

Although the weather this summer has not always felt like summer - for this shoot, the weather was our friend.

Erin and I got together for a great bridal session, using some great locations that I will definitely use again!  I love the contrast of beautiful Erin in a beautiful wedding gown - against the really rustic and simple backgrounds.  This was such a great shoot, that it was REALLY tough for me to pick my favorites to post here.  If you have time, and curiosity - check out the rest of the initial edits/set here:  www.williamainsley.com/erin

Isn’t the red wall, and the old fire/rescue truck awesome???

I love your comments, let me know what you think!

Introducing “Tori”

April 16, 2009

From time to time I look at some opportunities to shoot area models.  I find that it lets me experiment with lighting, composition, and the post processing is fun as well.  Ironically, shooting models is not my main business but I think it is what I enjoy the most, and do the best.

Actually -  I enjoy it as much as the other types of photography…I mean, I like weddings, engagements, babies, etc  for different reasons.  I love the emotion, and the details of “life” photography.  With models I love the juxtaposition and drama that can be created.

So, I introduce Tori.  Some will notice that I have some “favorite” models.  Models that I have shot a few times - and will likely shoot more.  Tori is one of those people.  The things that make these models my favs are easy - they are flexible and easy going, they interesting and pleasant….and they are local.  (Obviously they are beautiful too!)  I had a lot of fun with Tori - and we got some great shots.  For being such a new model - she is a natural.  If you want to check out Tori, her Model Mayhem is #838263.

Being local is important to me - as I find the best shoots are the quick shoots.  I like that I can text Tori, find out if she is available - and in a few hours have some fun shooting.  We can simply drive around, look for intersting locations and get great shots.  Tori was very laid back and great to work with…and I look forward to taking pictures of her again soon!
